WHITLEY TERRACE
Whitley Terrace is another example of a typical architect/contractor collaboration. The project was a ground up construction of a standalone building or ‘accessory’ building on an existing lot designed by Dake Wilson Architects. The building was designed to be listening room, a place for the owner to enjoy music in a controlled acoustic environment. In addition to the studio, the building featured two bedrooms and one bathroom.
The interaction between rough boardform concrete walls, the Ipe wood siding and of course the Fleetwood sliding glass doors is signature in this building. The interior of the building had to be fully soundproofed and acoustically tuned with all attention to detail.
